Birthday Girl

My little girl turned 2!  In honor of her favorite t.v. character, we had a Barney birthday party complete with a purple cake.  We ate pizza, played a few games, opened presents and ate cake.  It was a great night.

All of Audrey's cousins were there.

And Bailey was such a little sweetheart getting passed around from grandma to grandma.

On a totally unrelated topic, I had to add this picture:

Audrey is wearing my "hooter-hider" (it's exactly what you think it is).  She has taken to feeding her babies underneath it like a good little mommy.  I love this girl!!!

New Arrival

When my contractions started getting worse on Monday evening, we brought Audrey over to my mom's house to put her to sleep there.  She knew something was going on, because she kept asking us to "turn around please" on our way there.  As soon as she fell asleep, we left for the hospital.

Four hours later, at 2:19 a.m. on January 29th, Bailey May Valentine joined our family.  She was 8 pounds 12 oz and 21 1/2 inches long.  We just love her mushy cheeks!!

While we were able to convince Audrey to give Bailey a kiss upon meeting her, that was about all we could get out of her. She had no desire to hold her...she even said, "no, don't want her" one of the times we asked her to.  But no worries, her spirit changed as soon as we came home - asking to hold her as soon as we walked through the door.

Bailey and her cousin, Juliette; they're only 7 weeks apart!

We are excited, and totally freaked out, to be a family of four!

January

Every time we got a light dusting Audrey would beg to go play in the snow outside.  Finally, we got some significant snow and we took her out to play.

Luckily for her, Daddy likes to play in the snow too.

She loved every minute of it and had no desire to go back inside.

We recently went to visit Bup (my Dad) at the fire station.  Audrey was a little nervous at first, but warmed up quickly to the big trucks with their flashing lights.

I'm only a couple weeks away from my due date!

December

The month of December brought us a bigger belly...

 A new baby cousin...

Audrey adores Juliette.

Some more potty experimentation...

And of course, it brought us Christmas.

Audrey wasn't thrilled with Santa, but she was willing to put up with a picture for the candy cane.  She has a sweet tooth...that's my girl.

We had another Charlie Brown Christmas tree this year.  We walked through some undeveloped land near our house and found a perfect white pine tree.  Okay, actually we found three perfect white pine trees.  Yes, you're looking at three trees smashed together so that it would look like one full tree.  If you know Chris, you know he can't do anything conventionally.

We had Christmas morning at our house, both grandparent's houses, and my great-aunt's house.  Audrey knew exactly what to do with the presents and would say, "Thank you, Santa!" after opening something good.

Thanksgiving

You know your life is exciting when the thing you're most looking forward to for the Thanksgiving holiday is your husband cutting his facial hair.  Chris grew himself a sweet beard during the month of November.

And decided to play around with certain looks on Thanksgiving morning.

This was by far my favorite..look at that sexy beast.

But for real, we had a great couple of days with Chris' brother and his wife, Deg and Jessica.  We were sad they couldn't stay longer but we'll take what we can get!

And of course, we stuffed our faces and enjoyed the great meal.  Except for Audrey, who doesn't eat food nowadays.

However, she did agree to eat some turkey as long as she was holding the leg. Crazy kid.

Halloween

Did you know that because fairies are so small, they can only hold one feeling at a time?  So when they are happy, they are only happy.  And when they are mad, they are REALLY mad.  Which is why my sweet, yet sometimes angry little blondie was a perfect Tinker Bell for Halloween.

We went to the Halloween party at our library's Story Hour.

Then, on Saturday, my Great-Aunt Virginia threw a party for the family. I'm a cat holding a round (and getting rounder) fishbowl.  Chris is Mr. Money Mustache.  For an explanation, go here: http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/

We had tons of fun dressing up...except for my mother (in the middle) who uses Halloween as the one time of year to take off her costume and go as her true self. :)

Unborn babies have to dress up too! (And yes, that's a creepy lurking Santa back there)

Chris got a little excited decorating our car for the church's Trunk or Treat and then our garage on Halloween night.  As you can see, it was pretty terrifying.

Happy Halloween!!

Time Out

A couple weekends ago my sisters, my mom, and I went to Time Out for Women (a women only conference put on by Deseret Book).  It was inspiring and refreshing.  We spent Friday night in a hotel and made it a special girl's weekend.

It was a great time!
